Pattabi Goes For Blogger Interview

Pattabi had to attend the interview for the post of Social Media executive at SmallHorn corp. His sister Komala called from USA that morning.

Komala: Pattabi, all the best for your interview. Did u cut your small jittu? May not look professional at office.

Pattabi: Yeah Komals. Cut my Jittu. Read a few books by Guy Kawasaki and Kiruba Shankar.

Komala: Gr8. Books are important. But you need to know a lot of practical tips and tricks. You will learn on the job. Will call u in the evening.

Interviewer: Hi Pattabi. Tell me about yourself.

Pattabi: blah, blah, blah....

Interviewer: Pretty impressive Pat. But, you need to do a bit of offbeat work too.

Pattabi: Like...

Interviewer: You need to create 'fake profiles' of users. Then you have to write 'for and against' comments for your blog post or social event with a fake name. You may have to ask doubts, give suggestions , tips etc with the fake profile.

Pattabi: (Stunned) Er... sounds very creative. Can bring out many writing styles.

Interviewer: Yeah. You have to stir your own debate. Out of the 20 comments for your post, atleast 15 comments will be yours. You have to create fake websites on the fly and link it to these fake names.

Pattabi: (Wipes his forehead) Interesting...

Interviewer: Follow the same strategy for Facebook pages and Twitter. Fake followers, fake comments, and any other innovative fakes!

Pattabi: But if our social content is good, won't you get real followers and real comments?

Interviewer: Well, if you get real interactions, nothing like it. But if not, fake it. You can also identify a controversial, famous, or clowny character from our industry. And write about them too. This initiative engages the audience. Any other questions you would like to ask us?

Pattabi: Is this interview process real or eyewash? Have you preselected your candidate?

Interviewer: (Taken aback) No. This is genuine interview to find the creative faker! Very nice meeting you Pattabi. Will get back to you soon.

Komala: Bro, how was the interview?

Pattabi: Quite good. I'm now reading "Games people Play" for my next round of interview.

Komala: Oh..."I'm OK, you're OK" is also a good book to know about crowd psychology. Good luck.
